Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 226

It's time for a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 226!  Here's the sketch:

For my card, I started out with a Blue card base.  The patterned paper is from GinaK Designs Hello Sunshine pack.  The green and blue layering weight cardstock is from GinaK Designs Carnival cardstock assortment.  The two stamps are from Stampin Up (I'm not sure which sets.).  I diecut the starburst, star, arrow and blue cardstock with the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics.

Until next time! Happy Crafting!

Summer Happy Birthday Cards

I was having so much fun making patriotic cards, I made several!  For my first card, I used some cupcake pics.  Thanks to my friend, Emilee, for the idea and the great "find" in the Company Store for 25¢!  I mounted those picks on blue cardstock with some foam tape behind the flags and on the panel.  I added some stars from the retired Stampin Up star punch and included star brads with foam dots to pop them up.  I embossed the card front with the retired clouds embossing folder from Stampin Up.  The greeting is from Stampin Up Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  I just love that stamp set!  It's so versatile!  Punched the greeting out with Stampin Up Word Window punch and finished it off with the Modern Label punch.  I loved how this turned out so much, I made two of them!! ☺

For my next card, I used a white card base.  The patterned paper is from GinaK Designs Hello Sunshine pack.  I cut the patterned paper strips using the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics Washi Tape dies.  I added the star brads and finished it off with the greeting from Stampin Up Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  Punched the greeting out with Stampin Up Word Window punch and finished it off with the Modern Label punch. (I took this picture at night, and the lighting wasn't the best.  It really is white cardstock.)

For my last card, I used the Stampin Up Work of Art stamp set.  I just love those brush stroke stamps!  I love how this watermelon turned out!  I punched the (seeds) hearts out with the Owl Builder punch from Stampin Up.  So cute! ☺ I added the greeting and the double frame, black and pink and adhered it to the white card base.  Watermelons just scream SUMMER to me!

Until next time!  Happy Crafting!

A fun day with my Mom!

Today my mom and I (and Remi, too) spent the day together!  Mom wanted to make some cards using her new MFT Lily die set that I had gotten her for Mother's Day.  So we broke out the die set and started playing!  Oh what fun we had!  I just know she's going to have lots of fun with that die set! Yay!!

So for my card, I started out with white and green cardstock to cut out the flowers, leaves and stems.  Then I colored the flower like a Star Gazer Lily with Bic Markers.  I just love those markers to color with!  So much fun!  I made the leaves and stems two-toned, as foliage in nature isn't all one color.  I put the flowers on a green patterned paper then on pink card base.  The greeting is from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings stamp set.  I just stamped the "Hello" from "Just Saying Hello" greeting.  (It fit better on the word window punch!)  I then punched it out with the Stampin Up Word Window Punch and then adhered it to the green Modern Label Punch.

I just know the recipient of this card will love it!  What fun we had with that die!!!

Here is Mom's card.  I LOVE that purple!!!  She did a great job on it!  The brush-stroked purple patterned paper is so pretty!  The yellow frame around that patterned paper is so pretty, too!

And Remi was right in the mix of things, at our feet, too!  He was so glad when his grandpa came home to pet him!  <smile>  What a great day we had crafting!

Until next time!  Happy Crafting!

Happy Independence Day!

For my card today, I used the Stampin Up Outlined Occasions stamp set, white, red and blue cardstock. I punched out the stars with a retired star punch from Stampin Up and added star brads to the stars. I popped the stars up on foam dots. I embossed the white cardstock after I stamped it with the Swiss dot embossing folder. I added some sparkle with the Sakura stardust pen, too. It wouldn't be 4th of July without some sparkle, right?

Until next time!  Happy Crafting!

STV14MON24

This card was made for the Stamp TV weekly challenge.  Click here to see others in the gallery: STV14MON24.  Feel free to play along!  The stipulation for this card was to use at least one popped up flower. Easy peasy!

The rules:

For my card, I used GinaK Designs Shabby Spring Stamp TV kit. The card base is Tomato Soup. The patterned paper is from the kit. The flower and butterfly images are from Warm Spring Wishes stamp set. The banner die cut is cut from Fresh Asparagus cardstock, the Washi tape diecut is from a scrap as is the yellow Banner, Circle and Starburst diecut. Those dies are from the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics. The butterfly is from the Vintage Cuts from the kit. I stamped the images with Memento Expresso Truffle. I finished off the flower image with an enamel dot. I popped up the images with foam adhesive.

On the inside, I used more of the patterned paper from the front as well as another sheet from that paper pack. I diecut the tomato soup patterned paper with the stitched edge die from the Blueprints 13 die set. I stamped the greeting, Stampabilities-Matthew 11:28 02, with Stazon Olive Grove ink.

On the back, I stamped the greeting from Heart & Soul, Stamp and Pray and my custom 'Handcrafted by' in Stazon Olive grove ink.

I created this card with inspiration from MFT Blueprints 15 sketches. Although I don't have that Blueprints Die-namics, I really liked the sketch, and made it work with what I had! This card is for a friend who's nephew died. She couldn't come home for the funeral, and I wanted to send her my love.

Until next time! Happy Crafting!

Chloe goes to doggy heaven!

For my card, I started out with craft cardstock. I used the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics for the elements on the card. I used a couple of greetings on the card from Papertrey Ink, With Sympathy Loss Of Pet stamp set.

I used Rich Razzleberry textured cardstock and a pink cardstock for the elements on the front.

For the inside, I reversed the cardstock colors on the elements and added the greeting.

The back of the card I stamped my Handcrafted by Brenda stamp - custom made and a Heart and Soul stamp, Stamp and Pray 1204.

This card is for my bestie who's Chloe girl has gone to doggie heaven. She was a good girl and will be missed!

Until next time. A happy crafting!

Spider-Man Get well wishes

For my card, I started out with black card base. On white card stock, I manually embossed a spiderweb and then sponged over the embossed area with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. For the Spider-Man logo, I drew by hand and 'fussy-cut' it out on both blue and red cardstock. I punched out the greeting on white cardstock with the word window punch and then layered it on blue cardstock pinched out with the modern label punch.

This card is for Delton, who will be in the hospital for several weeks. He likes Spider-Man, so I've got some other ideas up my sleeve for other cards I plan to send him. Stay tuned!

Until next time. Happy crafting!

Happy Father's Day!

Here's the card I made for my dad for Father's Day.  I'm happy with the results.

I started out with GinaK Designs Sandy Beach Cardstock base.  I used Stampin Up Color Coordination 6 x 6 patterned paper pack in Kraft and some purple cardstock, both retired.  The banners, arrows, star-burst and circle dies are from MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13 set.  I used the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round the right upper and lower corners.  The greeting came from TPC Studio Greetings stamp set.  It was stamped in MFT ColorBox Grape Jelly Ink.

For the inside, I used a couple more dies from that same set.  I die-cut white cardstock with the stitched edge die, the banner flag and the white circle.  I die-cut the purple star-burst and the stitched edge and adhered. the banner and arrow are popped up on foam tape. And lastly, the arrow die is from the Kraft patterned paper from Stampin Up, retired. The inside greetings are a couple I had in my stash, not sure who the "Go Nuts! It's Your Day" stamp came from, the "love ya bunches" is a Stampin Up stamp, but not sure which set it came from.

And that's my Father's Day card.

Until next time!  Happy Crafting!

Just sittin here thinking about you...

I have a few people who've been on my mind lately.  So much sickness...  It's crazy.  Here are a couple of cards I've made for them.

My first card:

This card is made with Stampin Up cardstock, not sure of the exact color, but I do know that it's retired. I stamped the main image and colored her in with Bic Markers.  The banner is die cut from the My Favorite Things Blueprints 13 set.  I stamped the greeting  and I then "fussy cut" the image out and popped her up on foam squares. The stamp set is from Inky Antics, Alice's Afternoon.  I just love this stamp set!  She's so cute, sitting there in the chair with her teddy bear at her feet.

My second card:

This card is made with Stampin Up cardstock, not sure of the exact color, but I do know that it's retired. I stamped the main image and colored her in with Bic Markers. I cut a matt out of GinaK Designs Limited Edition Wild Orchid Cardstock - no longer available.  I stamped the greeting from that set and adhered the matt and main image on the card front.  I used my corner chomper to round the corners on the layers in the upper rightvcorner.

On the inside, I finished it off with the same matting as the front and stamped the rose images in the corners for a little deco on the inside.  I plan to write a message on the inside of both of these cards, so I didn't want a lot of deco on the inside.

And that's the cards for today.

Until next time! Happy crafting!

Get Sketchy with MFT Card Sketch 179

Here is this weeks card sketch from My Favorite Things Blog.  Since it has rained most of the afternoon, I thought it was a good time to get crafty!

Here is my first card.  I started out with Bashful Blue cardstock from Stampin' Up (I believe it is retired).  Layered some cloud patterned paper onto white cardstock.  Die-cut the circle and scalloped circle and stamped the greeting from MFT Up, up and Away as well as the two balloons from that same set.  I fussy cut the two balloons out and popped them up on foam dimensionals.  And that's my card.

My second card started out with a yellow cardstock base.  I cut a piece of patterned paper from Gina K Designs Hello Sunshine paper pack.  I then die-cut the scallopped circle from Stampin' Up Naturals Ivory cardstock.  I then daubed the scalloped circle with Distressed Stain in antique linen and mustard seed with a scrap of shelf liner to make it look like popcorn.  I stamped the greeting from the MFT Poppin By stamp set.  I also stamped the girl from that same stamp set and pieced her top and pants in with some scrap patterned paper I had on hand.  I colored her face, hair, shoes and socks and popcorn box in with markers.  And that's my card.

I hope you like the cards.  Let me know if you try the Get Sketchy 179.  Link your cards in your comment below.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Belated Birthday Cards

I had a couple of birthdays I missed for some girls at work.  So this weekend I worked on some cards.
Here are my cards.

This one was done with a new technique I hadn't done before.  It is using the Twinkling H2Os.  I stamped the butterfly image (GinaK Designs stamp Believe In Yourself Duo) with StazOn Jet Black ink.  Then used the Twinkling H2Os to color in the butterfly images.  I wanted a little more color on the card, so I used a scrap of shelf liner and dipped it in the Twinkling H2Os and daubed it on the card front to give the look of sky.  I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment.  I layered this on a yellow, orange and wisteria wonder card stock to complete the look.

My second card:

This card uses the Twinkling H2Os, too.  I just can't get enough of them!  They are so much fun to play with!  I first stamped the flower image (GinaK Designs stamp Doodle Flowers Duo) with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I then used the Twinkling H2Os to "resist" coloring.  The Twinkling H2Os won't stick to the embossing, therefore it resists the ink, hence the "resist" coloring. :)  I then put the ribbon to separate out the two colored backgrounds and placed on a lavender card stock and finished it off with a GinaK Designs Wild Orchid card stock.

I hope you enjoy the cards!  Let me know if you use Twinkling H2Os and how you used them in your crafting!  They are so much fun to work with!

Until next time!  Happy Crafting!

Margaritas and Girlfriends

This is what happens when two friends get together and have a couple of margaritas!  Fun times!
